In my last post, I briefly mention my short-lived life in Trois-Rivières, QC and how there were times of need-for-adventure and new music. So this, along with visiting one of my favorite Canadian cities, and seeing old friends, a couple new buddies of mine set out to take a trip to Montréal for a few days.
Sure enough, I had multiple “small-world moments” (gotta love’em!) on that Montréal trip. One of those being that I ran into an old university friend, Matt Shane (who, by the way, is an AMAZING artist).
We randomly heard about this new indie group, Think About Life (2006), who was playing that night at this cool small venue, Casa del Popolo. The locals kept talking about them, and we kept hearing how it was a must-see act. At the time, I had no idea Matt was playing for this band. So we enter the venue, just as the new band is getting ready to start their set. Then I bump into this guy who I thought was trying to get closer to the stage. We start laughing at the random encounter. Sure enough, it was Matt who was making his way to play the drums. He got up there and rocked it! So fun!
This world is certainly a small place sometimes.
